Taunton Camerata was established in 1994 by a group of singers who wanted to perform choral music specifically suited to a small chamber choir. Camerata rapidly developed a reputation for excellent performance of interesting and challenging programmes for singers, players and audiences alike; their repertoire spans vocal works from the eleventh century to the present day. The singers' enjoyment of exploring the output from generations of talented composers has been transmitted to audiences who regularly travel considerable distances to attend concerts. Soloists are drawn whenever possible from the choir, several of whom are experienced soloists in their own right.  Camerata employs musicians of the highest quality and authority in order to perform their repertoire in as authentic a manner as possible.
