We are really looking forward to working on this programme of Latin American baroque music.

The Spanish Conquistadores laid claim to vast tracts of what we now call Latin America (from Chile north into New Mexico and east into Venezuela) and introduced many components of Latin European culture, including the musical heritage of the Catholic Church. Over time, this resulted in an astonishing fusion of European Renaissance and early Baroque with the vibrant musical culture which already existed among the New World cultures discovered in Central and South Americas. This distinctive and exciting musical treasury is now making its way back to Europe and is frequently heard on Classic FM. You are warmly invited to attend this concert of old New World music!
